Bisbee is an old mining town. Today the town has become famous for being an artisan community.
The town of Bisbee. It now is home to a thriving artisan community of painters, pottery makers, and jewelery crafters. In the 1800's and the early 1900's it was best known for being a mining community.

Most of the buildings date back to the 1800's or early 1900's.
The Copper Queen Hotel. I will, from time to time, drive here to have lunch. The drive over the Coronado Forrest is quite pleasant. After lunch I will walk around the shops.

The bar at the Copper Queen.
I love the wood work of the lobby.
Bisbee's main street. Here you can find all manner of curios, pottery, jewelery, etc.
I was truly amazed to see a dog, cat, mouse and bird all getting along.

Leaving Bisbee.
The Lavender Pit Mine. It is a huge open pit mine which is no longer active.
The Phelps Dodge Mine. It is pretty much played out but you still see some activity from time to time.

You can still see a lot of the copper ore on the mountain side.
